Chinese media granted significant coverage to the views of the founder and chairwoman of the Schiller Institute, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, in and around the May 14-15 Belt and Road Forum in Beijing at which she spoke during the think tank sessions. During discussions with collaborators after her two-week trip to China, Zepp-LaRouche stressed that the strategic reality in the world is actually very different from that generally presented in the mainstream media in Europe and the United States.
The “new era” internationally, expressed in China’s initiatives, cannot be reversed however much the European and American oligarchies may attempt to do so, she said.
Reflecting that reality, her Chinese interlocutors, including in the media, were very appreciative of her and the Schiller Institute’s efforts to promote cooperation with China, not just economically but also on the highest cultural level.
On the second day of the Belt and Road Forum, Zepp-LaRouche was interviewed on one of the most prominent news analysis shows “Dialogue with Yang Rui” on the English language CGTN, together with the President of the China Institute of International Studies, Mr. Su Ge.
During a visit to Shanghai for meetings, Zepp-LaRouche spoke with Wan Lixin of the Shanghai Daily. The introduction to the interview published June 1 notes that Zepp-LaRouche founded the Schiller Institute in 1984, “a think tank devoted to the realization of these [development] plans and a renaissance and a dialogue of classical cultures.
“In 1991 she was a coauthor of a study The Eurasian Landbridge/ The New Silk Road and in 2014 of the study The New Silk Road Becomes the World Landbridge, which has been translated into Chinese, Arabic, German and Korean. She is an expert in European humanist philosophy and poetry, Confucius, and history.”
Finally, it is useful to recall that at the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, the May issue of China Investment magazine was distributed in Chinese and in English to every participant. And that issue carried a very important article by Helga Zepp-LaRouche headlined: “Once the United States Joins the Belt and Road Initiative, a New Paradigm for Mankind Can Begin”. That article is reprinted in full here.
